Guiding Steps provides teletherapy services for children, adolescents, and adults. 

• Initial Assessment

  • The initial assessment allows the clinician to meet with the client and learn about what brings them to therapy. Initial assessments consist of a bio-psycho-social assessment to learn about the client and develop treatment that is best appropriate.

• Individual Counseling 

  • Guiding Steps offers individual counseling for children, adolescents, and adults to work on a variety of reasons that lead individuals or parents to seeking counseling. Sometimes goals are clear and other times they are not and Guiding Steps understands that and is happy to help make the process easier for the client. Taking the first step to seek counseling is often the hardest part!

• Couples or Pre-Marital Therapy

  • Clinician has training in Marriage and Family Therapy and is trained to act as a neutral party when working with couples. In couples therapy, the relationship is viewed as the client and the clinician helps the couple set goals in therapy to support the goals they have for their relationship. 

• Family Therapy

  • Family dynamics and boundaries are often passed down through generations and can create complexities in the way a family functions with each other and their environment. Each family is unique in their own way and the clinician can allow each member a safe space to work together on complexities within the family system.

What is teletherapy?

• During the Covid-19 pandemic, teletherapy was widely used and changed the landscape and delivery of behavioral and mental health services. Teletherapy has become an incorporated method to deliver service and make it more easily accessible for clients. Teletherapy is offered through our online HIPAA compliant electronic health records system using it's virtual office to meet remotely. A phone, tablet, or computer with access to the internet is required to participate in teletherapy. Clients will recieve a reminder via email or text before their appointment with the link for the virtual office.

Limitations

• Guiding Steps Counseling and Consultation Serivces, LLC and the providers are not licensed to treat substance abuse disorders. If substance abuse impedes treatment, an appropatie referral will be provided.
